An "Egg"-citing Easter!

We thoroughly enjoyed our celebrations this Easter holiday.  It's fun for me to decorate for every holiday/season.  I have a few bunny decorations that Eli has really taken a liking to.  He loves to carry them around and make them "hop."  : )   Here's our mantle for spring--

David's parents and brother, Josh, came over on Saturday.  I made a beautiful (and yummy!) chicken & berry salad (sorry no picture!) with wheat rolls.  We all devoured it, and it made me feel good to make and eat such a healthy meal!  : )  Eli of course loved all the time and attention he had with his extended family, and we were glad to have them here.

I have loved viewing Mormon.org's "Remembering the Resurrection" Easter cards the past several days.  Click here to see them yourself.  Beautiful artwork and scriptures representing the final days of Christ's life.

Before church we gave Eli his Easter goodies.  He was a little cranky this morning from being overtired from the day before, but when I told him we were going to open his Easter gifts his face lit up with a big smile.  : )  He received three new books and a bouncy ball.  He was very happy about everything, and the three of us sat right there as I read him his new books.  Afterwards Eli and Dad kicked the ball around.

I'm so grateful that Easter is always on a Sunday.  I know that we would quickly forget the reason we have Easter if this weren't so, and move right along to all of the "fun" festivities.  We received beautiful talks and lessons on the Atonement, Crucifixion, and Resurrection.  I also love getting to sing the special Easter hymns, and it was really nice to hear the choir sing "That Easter Morn."

After church we headed over to my parent's for one FANTASTIC meal, as well as great company.  : )  My mom is such an amazing cook, and she goes all out on holidays, with beautiful decorations and table settings.

I contributed to the meal by making this little treat--

They should have been quick and painless, but I guess I used too many marshmallows, because just like my red velvet cookies from V-Day, the mixture was completely stuck to my hands when I was trying to put it in the muffin pan!  Rather frustrating.  But at least they turned out cute!

As we were getting dinner on the table, I looked out the window and saw David, Eli, and Molly (dog) playing so sweetly in the grass.  I quickly ran to take a picture--

Me and my sweet joy-of-a-boy--

Grandpa M. showing Eli how to use one of his new toys--

Grammie had a few eggs that I hid around the living room for Eli to do a mini Easter egg hunt.  He got the hang of it pretty well, as you can see in the video.

I am so very grateful that because of the Resurrection, we can all live again in perfect bodies, reunited with our families, our Father, and His Son.
