A Fair Day

One Saturday in July, the three of us headed over to Greencastle to visit David's family and go to the Putnam County Fair.  We arrived in the morning of the first day as the judging was still taking place, so unfortunately none of the booths with food or things to see, or even any of the rides, were open yet.  But luckily the only things that mattered to a little boy--tractors and animals--were!

Eli couldn't believe his eyes seeing so many cool tractors in one place!  He excitedly pointed them all out and tried running to them.  Grandma and Grandpa Hayes were happy to take him around to the fun fair sights.

An especially fun sight was to see a real fire truck!  The firefighters were very friendly and let Eli climb inside, and even try on a hat!  (Which as you can see, made him a little uneasy).

He sat and "drove" several of the tractors.  : )

On to the animals!  We stopped to see all of them that were there, and Eli pet every one!

Cows--

Rabbits--

Sheep--

Goats (definitely the friendliest farm animal)--

Pigs (All I can say about them is YUCK.  But this picture is sweet)--

Horses--

Don't those boys look so excited to be at the fair?  ; )

We also saw the chickens, ducks, and all other farm fowls, before heading back to the Hayes's.

David took this photo of these beautiful flowers at his parent's house.  They have quite the green thumb, with a bountiful garden to show for it.

We enjoyed the time we got to spend with family, and for getting to take Eli to his first Fair!
 He's now a true Hoosier.  ; )
