Every summer our community hosts a “touch-a-truck” event for
the kids. Many different trucks that we
see working around town are stationed at our high school parking lot for all
the adoring fans to climb aboard to “drive” their favorite trucks. A truck-lover’s dream!\
It was a SUPER hot day this year, and we arrived right when
it started, so thankfully the lines weren’t bad at all. Clara split the time between stroller and
walking. She enjoyed the experience, but
wasn’t interested in climbing into the trucks.
Eli was definitely in heaven! We
started at the school bus, then police car, excavator, fire truck (then stopped
to play a game and get candy), UPS semi, safari jeep (army truck), tractor, cherry
picker, etc. There were a few less
trucks this year, including the popular mail truck and garbage truck.

Both kids were awesome sports through our time there. They handled the lines well, and also the
heat. Eli still occasionally asks (as we
pass by the high school ): “Are the trucks there today??” Fun to see him so enthralled with it
all. The event will certainly have our
yearly support!
