We got off to a bit of a rocky start. We arrived at the address listed online only to find that it was a dilapidated house with tons of junk all over the yard and no play equipment or animals (except for a couple cows out back). I was so confused! No one was there so we weren't sure what to do! Then some more cars pulled into the driveway. They were other people trying to visit Prancing Ponies, all surprised like us to come to what we did. After talking to another lady and her researching on her phone she came across another address that wasn't far away. Thankfully it was the right one! Apparently when they began their business it started out at their house (where we went originally). Now they meet at a farm. Unfortunately they don't know how to change the address on google! But the craziest part of all was that there was NO SIGN to tell all the cars pulling into the wrong place where to go! I mentioned that to the owner. It's not the first time she's heard it, I guess she doesn't feel very proactive about the potential lost customers!
The people are very "country" and the farm is pretty redneck, but it's an awesome price and the kids had a blast! Besides the ponies, they had goats (that you can feed), a bunny, ducks, chickens, kittens, dogs, sheep, pigs, and bigger horses. You can pet/hold all of the animals. They also have playground equipment, a sand box, and lots of toys.
Ezra was already a fan of horses before this visit. But boy oh boy this day made him truly fall in love with them! He rode on a pony named "Buddy." All summer long after this he talked about "Buddy neigh" constantly. David had a little game with him where he'd ask him what his name is and he'd reply "'M Buddy Neigh" (said with a twang). :)
Eli had the opportunity to ride the large horse, too. Such a beauty!
David's baby sister, Lillie, enjoyed the animals, too.
All of the animals were so friendly! So sweet and gentle with the children. It was just so much fun to be around them!
We went back to our house for lunch, presents, and cake. Clara chose a "Sofia the First" theme. She loved being the special center of attention that day and loved everything she received!
Clara wanted chocolate cake with pink frosting. I read that you could make frosting pink by crushing up freeze dried strawberries. That's what I did and it turned out pretty and yummy!
