His pediatrician (who I love, by the way) and I talked for awhile about Eli's sleep habits. Usually from about 2:00-6:00 a.m. he'll wake up every hour wanting to eat (except the last two nights he's done much better. Maybe things are looking up?) He's also not sleeping in his crib still, which means I'm holding him during naps, and David holds him in the evening before he comes to bed with me. NOT fun. She wants me to let Eli cry it out. She did it with her son, assured me it would work, and that he would never remember being left to cry. It hurts to think of upsetting him so much, but of course I know it's time for him to learn how to sleep on his own and self-soothe. I would love to hear from you other moms, though. What sleep training methods have you tried, and were they successful?
Other than the sleep troubles, Eli is doing great! He is SUCH a sweet boy and is quick to smile at anyone who smiles at him. His favorite things are electronics and playing with anything that crinkles, and he delights in watching us brush our teeth. :)
Eli can sit unsupported for about 10 seconds, and can rotate his body 360 degrees on tummy time. His main focus on the floor, though, is baby push-ups. He is so proud of himself that he can push himself up off the floor. :)
It's amazing how observant babies are. Eli just notices everything, and definitely wants to grab and chew on EVERYTHING. He also loves to put his hand on our mouths. Many mornings I wake up with Eli 'smacking' me in the face! :)
These pictures were taken last week, and I already put them on facebook, but they are the most recent that I have right now, and too darn cute to not post! =)
We love our boy and look forward to the many adventures that lie ahead! Happy Half Birthday, Eli!
