Sisters' Weekend

My two older sisters, Emily and Beth, decided to come home for a visit over the MLK holiday.  Their husbands had to work, so they just came with their kids.  What a fun time we had!  Even though we love their spouses (and our own spouses), it was really, really nice to have time with just the girls (David and Kyhle were there for a little bit of time, but mostly there were no husbands, except for my dad).

Eli and I drove down to my parent's that Friday morning.  Both of my parents had to work, so the rest of us just hung around the house, talked, and played.  Eli had a hard time getting along with his cousin Holly at Thanksgiving, but this time they were great buds.  She'd just grab him by the hand and whisk him off to play, and they had all sorts of fun!  Of course, sometimes Holly's excitement would be a little much for Eli, and then he'd shy away from her for awhile.  Holly is such a hoot and so much fun to be around!

Sadly I really didn't take any pictures while I was there.  : (  But here's a very cute video of Eli and Holly playing together.

They also took a bath together.  It was so funny to watch them because Holly is such a wild child and Eli is so mellow.  He stayed at the front of the tub playing in the faucet, while Holly was swimming all over the place.  : )

It was fun to spend time with babies Noah and Ben and get to know them better.  Both are such sweet boys!  Noah got the biggest kick out of Molly the dog, and would crawl after her and squeal with delight when she was around.

Saturday we went to visit our grandma and cousins in Terre Haute, and enjoyed that reunion.  Sunday we went to church, and afterwards we had a 1st birthday party for Noah!  We sang a couple of fun Primary songs (Noah loves music and is quite the bouncer), played "Duck, duck, goose," played with bubbles, and of course had cake and presents.  It was great to be able to help celebrate his birthday!

Most nights after the kids were in bed the rest of us stayed up and watched home videos.  Boy do those things ever give us some good laughs!  We enjoyed reminiscing and remembering those growing-up years.  We also played a few fun games, and always stayed up way too late talking.

It was such a great time together, and it was definitely hard to watch them go.  I love all three of my sisters and don't know what I'd do without them!  Thanks to my mom and dad for providing a place for us to all gather together and create wonderful new memories!
