Conference Weekend

We decided to go to our parent's house a couple Saturdays ago to watch our church's weekend of General Conference (where we listened to our prophet and apostles speak and counsel to us in a broadcast from SLC.  You can read/watch all of the talks here).  It was a terrific weekend with good company, yummy foods, and inspirational messages from our leaders.

David and I were glad we made the last-minute choice to spend the whole weekend (instead of just coming on Sunday).  We had so much time to relax and visit, and the kids soaked up the time with their grandparents.

Eli sported this dress-up hat a good portion of the time.

Eli helped Grammie make and decorate Easter sugar cookies!  He loved pounding the dough with the spatula.  : )

Sunday afternoon between the Conference sessions we all took a walk through my parent's neighborhood.  Four two-hour sessions makes for a LOT of sitting, so it was especially nice getting to move around and get some fresh air.  Eli was in a jolly mood, skipping around in his boots, and pulling flags from people's yards.  We then stopped to look at one of the lakes, and Eli decided he was going to head right in!  

We love this picture.  It makes me think of a soldier who is waving a flag of victory.  Eli was throwing the flags into the lake.

After our water-play and we continued on our walk, I could hear Eli's boots going "squelch, squerch, squelch, squerch," and he was walking with a waddle.  Grammie stopped with him and poured out a quart of water from his boots.  I took off his wet socks, dried his feet on my pants, placed the boots back on his feet and we moved happily along.

Clara was just happy having someone to look at.  : )
