SNOW!

We have had it pretty mild in terms of snow this winter (getting our biggest yet today on March 1st--7 inches and counting), but have had fun with the snow we've had!

Eli was given a kid's shovel and snow brush for Christmas, and he's loved getting a chance to use them. Having snow in the winter is so much better than not having it (if it's going to be cold anyway), so then kids can go out and play!

The snows often came on weekends, so we made time for a couple sledding trips!  Surprisingly, this was Eli's 1st winter sledding!  It's hard to make sledding trips happen on my own with a little one in tow, and David works so much in the winter.  Eli loved sledding SO much!  Both kids did!  They felt so much happiness while sledding, and I felt so much joy getting to watch that, and experience it with them.  (I went sledding with both kids, but no pictures were taken)  I love David for capturing the joy on camera, but next time we'll have to get him on the SLED instead!  :)

These smallish sledding hills (perfect for little ones) were at a park just a few minutes walk from our house.

Eli loved making snow angels!  On one trip David took Clara back home, and Eli and I stayed and made snow angels together, then played chase tag in the snow.  It was a fun, special time we had with just the two of us.

Clara's 1st sledding experience was getting knocked down by Eli coming through on the sled.  He collected her, then they kept going!  So funny, especially to see how she had a huge smile on her face!

 Even though Clara didn't have boots or snow gloves, she was such a trooper and kept a big smile on her face for a long time.  Eli spent much more time out than she did, but I'm so glad she had enjoyable experiences with snow, too!

 These last pictures were taken one evening when David and Eli spent hours shoveling and then playing in the snow.  I looked out my window to see Eli running up and down the sidewalk, with snowballs in his hands.  :)

I know I will always love looking back at these pictures and remembering the fun memories made!
