Field Trippin'

Eli's class took a field trip to Russell Farms pumpkin patch in October.  Every student had to have a chaperone, and Clara, Eli, and I were looking forward to the eventful day!  The three of us rode in the big school bus to the patch, which the kids thought was just the greatest thing ever.  Eli went straight to the back of the bus with some of his buddies, and Clara and I sat close by.  It was a bumpy ride sometimes, which just added to the fun of it all.

We started off by going inside a barn and learning about a few different farm animals, seeing them up close and getting to pet them, such as a bunny, a pony, a chicken, etc.

They went to a different location and watched a video on farm chores.  By that time they were getting a bit more wiggly and ready to move around more!  My mom arrived at the end of the movie to spend the rest of the time with us (she was on her Fall Break).  It was so nice to have her there.  She was able to take Clara to go play on the equipment while Eli had to stay with his class to do the scheduled field trip activities.

The kids got to try their hands at farm chores, too:

At the end of the trip they had a little time left for playing.  Sure wish they could have played more.  Such fun things to play on!

The first field trip was a success!  We just wish Daddy could have joined in the fun!
