Kindergarten, Here We Come!

Eli has "graduated" from Pre-K and is headed for Kindergarten in just a few short months!  I feel like we were the only preschool that didn't have an official cap and gown ceremony!  He did have an end-of-year Open House, however, where we were able to see all the great artwork he'd been doing (with a 'movies' theme), as well as some other projects he's worked on.

Showing me the work that he was proud of.
Clara can't wait until the day when she can go to school, too!  I'm glad she's all mine for another year.  :)
Funny dress-up for a picture spot.
A week after school ended I had a Parent-Teacher Conference with his two teachers.  Both of them raved about Eli and what a fantastic boy he is and how well he's done in class.  It sounded like he was always doing what he was supposed to, he's learned a lot, and does very well with others.  It sure made me feel proud to be his mom!  I, too, can tell how far he's come from the beginning to the end of the year.  Way to go, Eli!

We did a little tour of his elementary school back in March, and he just thought it was SO COOL.  There's a fire station right next to his school, and he has it in his head that they'll take a field trip there on the first day.  :)  There were 5 or so kids from his preschool class that will attend the same elementary, and one good buddy from church.  He and his church buddy, Tristan, loved riding the bus around the school!

A couple weeks ago he had his Kindergarten screening.  I think it went fine, though they don't give you the results!

I know Pre-K was a terrific experience for Eli, and I'm so grateful for all that he gained from it.  When I asked him if he missed it, he replied, "Nope!  I'm glad to be home with you and Clara!" I hope I can always try to be "glad", too, and soak up this time with my boy before I barely have any.
