Fire Station Day!

For a few years or so I had heard of "Fire Station Day" through our local library's Summer Reading Program. But since it always occurred during afternoon naptime we could never attend it.  This past summer we no longer had a napper so we were all excited to go!  Before we went it was mentioned that you'd get wet, but I had NO idea that by 'wet' they meant completely soaked.  Ha!  I did pack a change of clothes in the car, thankfully, but in future years we will make sure to wear our swimsuits!

This summer activity had to have won a spot in my kids' Top 3 Best Days of the Summer.  The smiles they wore stretched across their whole face and they absolutely lived it up and loved it!

Ezra began very hesitant and did not want to get in the water, but after a while he realized it looked like fun and thankfully participated with the others.

They give a short presentation on fire safety and dressed one of the firefighters in his gear so all of the children could see what it looked like and know they don't need to be afraid of the firefighters if they came in their gear in their home.

Kids thought it was pretty cool to watch the helicopter take off!

 

They set up this mini "pool," that was basically a sturdy tarp filled with water.  The kids all swam in it fully dressed!

It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer day!
