We really enjoyed our family time this Independence Day. It was a little different this year, as no fireworks were allowed because of the drought, but we made up for the loss in other ways. In the morning the three of us headed over to our apartment pool to go swimming. It was a scorcher of a day, and as a result, it became a very WET July 4th! : ) We had the whole pool to ourselves, and it was especially fun since it was the first time we've all gone swimming together. Eli's getting more comfortable in the pool, and he sure loved having Daddy there to play with him.
Here's a video of Daddy tossing Eli in the water. He loved it!
In the evening we headed over to my parent's to celebrate the holiday, and to have a birthday party for my sister, Becky. We had a yummy cookout, Eli played happily with his new wagon from Grammie and Grandpa, and he also went swimming AGAIN!
Here's a cute video of him playing in the water.
Family photo! David had to hold the jello poke flag cake just to get Eli to come in the picture. He was sure eyeing that thing!
Hope all of you also enjoyed your holiday celebrations! We are so grateful for our family, friends, freedom, and faith.
That is so funny about David having to hold the cake so Eli would come in the picture. That picture is one to treasure -- years down the road people will wonder why David is so rrreeallly into that cake -- and you can remember it wasn't David who was so into it! Funny!
