Happy Birthday, Dave!

David celebrated turning 31 on September 8th!  It was a Sunday, and we hosted members of both of our families as a combined birthday/Clara's baby blessing day party.  

The Saturday night before his birthday the four of us went out to dinner at Applebees, thanks to a gift card given to us by some friends.  On the morning of Dave's birthday, as usual I put up a few poster-messages around the house for him to see throughout the day.  I made french toast for breakfast and gave David his present--socks--which turned out to be too made-for-old-men.  (Such a small present as he bought himself prescription sunglasses and a couple pairs of fancy new dress shoes.  : )

After church all of the family came to our house where I made hawaiian haystacks for dinner, and we had both strawberry shortcake and peach pie for desserts, compliments of my mom and mother-in-law.  Everything was delicious!  We sang to David, he opened his presents, and received more socks, some polos, burned cds, and money.

David, we're so glad to have you as our husband/father, and hope you enjoyed your special day!
