We had already been waiting around in the dr. office for way too long, and then they said they wanted to test her urine. They placed a bag inside her diaper for her to go in. And then we just had to wait until she did! She was past ready for a nap, but I tried feeding her a little before she fell asleep. Thankfully it wasn't too much longer after that before we were able to test. They did a quick test at the office and sure enough, her urine looked suspicious so we were given an antibiotic and brought her urine to a lab for a culture to be done.
The Monday following this Friday appointment I received a call that said that Clara did have E.coli growing, and they wanted her to have an ultrasound done to make sure there's nothing wrong with her system. : ( We had a couple of really hard nights with her just screaming and being so miserable, but thankfully the medicine really worked fast.
Clara will have to have a catheter and renal ultrasound this Friday. David will be taking the afternoon off to come with me, and my sister will kindly be watching Eli. I'm pretty nervous and scared about it, and hope I can keep it together while she's having her procedures, and pray that all will turn out well.
She had a 4-month wellness check after this appointment as well. Here are her stats:
Weight: 14 lb. 8 oz. (50th%)
Height: 26 1/4 in (95th%)
She didn't have near as much weight gain as she's had in the past, but she hasn't eaten as well through this sick time. But she's strong and healthy overall! She took her shots like a champ and cried for just a second. Such a sweet girl. : )
**Since writing this post Clara had her ultrasound and everything came back clear! She was PERFECT through everything, never squirmed or made a peep! Such a blessing.
