Fun With Eli

For a while during the early spring, Eli and I would go in the backyard and play frisbee together during the last part of Clara's naptime.  The way we played, we would take turns throwing the frisbee, then run fast and try to be the first one to pick it up.  He often had a funny sideways throw, but he LOVED playing, and we had a great time together.

Have to close your eyes while blowing bubbles to make a wish!  :)

Enjoying a picnic and water play with our friends, Brexton and Isabelle.  Eli put a towel over his head to try and stay cool.
Went to the dentist and has his first cavity.  :(  He loves the dentist.  He does very well and is very cooperative.  I had my teeth cleaned with both Eli and Clara with  me and they did great!  Eli still climbs up on my lap during my cleaning.  This time he even got up real close to watch the hygienist's every move in my mouth.  :P
There is a fun children's garden in Carmel called Coxhall Gardens.  It has a little village set up with a bank, pharmacy, grocery, school, etc., as well as a multi-colored "road", tunnel slides, and a sand area.  Eli's favorite spot to play is the jail--

Then I got some cute pictures of him taking my order at the market--

We finished up Joy School at the end of May.  I taught the class the week of Mother's Day.  We had a fun lesson on Gardens and looked over several different kinds of seeds.  The kids made this craft for their moms.  They turned out so cute!

We had a "Joy School Graduation" day.  One of the other moms hosted in her backyard.  As we were getting set up, Eli and his pal Tristan were having too much fun playing on a tarp.  :)

Here they were doing a run and jump.  Such fun boys!
There were two games set up.  1. An alphabet soup game, where all 26 letters were in a bucket of water, and they stirred the soup and scooped out letters to name.  2.  A letter search and find game, with all the letters buried in sand boxes that they had to go excavate.  The kids enjoyed them both!

We had a few picnic snacks, the kids played, and we attempted a ceremony.  Only 3/5 of the kids were there that day, which was disappointing.  I made these certificates and graduation hats (attaching a plate to a bowl with a brad, hole-punching the sides of the bowl and looping yarn, and then making a tassle out of fruit loops.  None of the 3 boys wanted to wear their caps, but I managed to get Eli to stick it on for a minute with the promise of a brownie.

I am happy I was able to do Joy School this year!  We had a great time, and now on to Pre-K!
