Fall Break

The kids had a week off of school in October for Fall Break. We went to Conner Prairie (of course) and David even took a longer lunch to be able to join us for a little bit (yay!).

The favorite tram ride!  Now it is winter and all of the outdoor areas are closed.  Whenever we go to Conner Prairie Clara asks, "Are we going to ride the tram?"  Not in the frigid weather, sweetie!  We definitely miss it during these long months!
So funny to watch David pump water in his nice work clothes.  :)
The kids really love getting to work in the gardens.  Scoop water in the buckets and pour on the plants.  Makes me feel just a twinge of guilt that I don't keep a garden at home that they can help tend.  They were working hard!

Ezra was cute!  He picked this vegetable in the garden and WOULD NOT put it down!  It practically became his new lovey, he carried it in his hand the whole rest of the trip, haha!

We enjoyed our trip to Conner Prairie SO much that we decided to go back the next day!  It was another day of perfect weather and I love that at Conner Prairie you can be outside the whole time and there's always so much to do and see!  We spent a long time at the tree house outpost...

Somehow we had never visited the potter before!  Crazy!  We went the day before and Eli LOVED it.  He was so riveted and just wanted to stay and stay.  We made sure to go back the 2nd day!  Really cool to watch him work.

The kids each trying out the potter's wheel.
A school break also means lots of time playing at home.  I love when the kids actually get along and play TOGETHER!

Occasionally Eli gets a fun idea in his head to dive into imaginative play (it sure happens less and less these days, sadly).  Those times are the best!  Look at these cute little construction workers!

A couple of fun videos of the kids playing at home:

Ezra takes after Eli in his love for dress-up!

They were practicing their howls.  :)
Clara actually spent fall break fighting the flu.  She seemed mostly fine in the day, but would have a fever.  Then she'd be asleep by 5:00 pm!  She also had a terrible cough.  I really shouldn't have taken her out and about everywhere.  It was so hard for to me think of staying home all that time!

It had been quite a long time since we had been to the zoo (not since Ezra was born).  I had been anxious to go because I knew he would be ecstatic to see all the animals!  The zoo was NOT a good idea after all.  Clara was too sick and was VERY fussy and exhausted.  David got stung by a killer bee and was miserable and grumpy (he must be allergic because his arm was pretty swollen).  But Ezra DID enjoy the animals!

Eli is always most excited about running the cheetah race!

Also a trip to the Children's Museum!

I'll also include the trip we took to the museum over Thanksgiving break as well.  On this visit we checked out the circus!

David's a natural with the hula hoop!

These two cuties aren't quite mastered in their hula-hooping skills as their dad, but they sure loved trying just the same!

Eli participating in a tightrope simulation.  Crazy stuff!  He did great!

Clara's first time riding on an animal (not on the bench) on the carousel and loving it!  Ezra was very nervous which is why he was sucking on his trusty thumb.

It's always a treat to have special time to spend together as a family!
