"Pumpkin Patchin'"--Take One

Last Saturday our little family decided to check out one of the several pumpkin patches nearby, Russell Farms.  The weather was supposed to be 70 degrees and beautiful, so we wanted to take full advantage of a lovely Fall day with a fun Fall activity!

Well, our outing didn't go quite as planned.  There was a major change in the weather that we didn't know about, and weren't at all prepared for!  It turned much colder and was so windy!  All we had for Eli was a light jacket that was too small for him!  Shivering in the cold and wind makes it a little harder to enjoy things. When we arrived at the farm, we found out the price of admission was twice as much as I had thought (and overpriced, in our opinion).  That really didn't make David very happy.  On top of the weather and the extra dough shelled out, Eli was in a bit of a funky mood.  He didn't want to smile for any pictures and threw himself a nice big tantrum when we finally made him get off of a tractor.  Oh, boy.  Despite these setbacks, we still managed to have ourselves a bit of fun here and there.  ; )

There was a track to ride mini tractors on.  Eli did NOT want to get off!  He didn't know how to make it move anywhere, but just being on that thing was good enough!

There was a little playground to play on--

Running through the corn maze. Wasn't sure what to think of it until Daddy started chasing him and playing peek-a-boo.

Eli's a funny runner.  He still runs like he just started, and often has to catch himself from falling sideways.  : )

I really don't care for this picture, but David really likes it.  He calls it Eli's "Model Pose."

Hayridin' to the pumpkin patch!  Eli LOVED the big tractor that pulled us along.  When we got off he had no interest in the pumpkins and just wanted to watch that tractor!

"I got my pumpkins, now I'm ready to go!"  (Unfortunately we didn't get to take any home.  But they're just as good when you get them at Kroger, right??)

All in all, it wasn't the grandest outing, but still a fun way to celebrate Fall!
