27

I celebrated my 27th birthday earlier this month.  My birthday fell on a Friday, and David took that day off work.  For breakfast he made super yummy raspberry pancakes with smoothies.  Mmmm!  Great way to start the birthday!

Here's a funny video of Eli "drunk" on smoothie--

We had made plans to go to the Monon Waterpark in Carmel, but the weather turned out to be cloudy and cooler.  We decided to still give it a try, but when we got there a sign said that they were closed because of a chance of storms!  We were majorly bummed.  :(  Since we were all in our swimsuits and had our lunch packed for a picnic, we headed over to a local splash pad instead.  It was pretty chilly, but we had a terrific time!  David said he was sorry that we were just doing something I do with the kids all the time.  But I told him it was special because we were all there together.  This park (Lawrence Inlow) has three playgrounds in the woods.  We all played on them, and took a little walk.  An enjoyable time was had by all!

While we were on our walk in the woods, we came across this deck.  Eli jumped on it and started practicing his "Super Moves."

For dinner the four of us ate at McAllister's.  We hadn't been there before and loved it!  Great food, great service.  Both kids did awesome and ate well.  (The kids' menu has super cheap prices!)  I even ordered some Chocolate Spooncake to take home with me!  (Oh yeah, I recommend it!)

That Saturday we drove to my parents for a nice birthday dinner and party.  My mom fixed up my requested meal--BBQ chicken, sliced peaches, potato wedges, veggie tray, and tex mex dip/chips. (I unfortunately had a stomach bug that whole weekend, but still had to eat up that good dinner, even though I paid for it later!) We opened presents.  I got my first-ever pair of fashion boots!  And also my first fashion scarf!  Haha.  I'm usually one of the last to get with a trend.  Some other birthday gifts were several pretty stud earrings, and giftcards to Target and DSW shoes.

It was a terrific birthday, and I loved getting to spend it with my family.
