A few weeks ago we were having a cloudy and windy Saturday with no set plans. David had wanted to take the kids to a park to take pictures of them. We decided to try to fly a kite while we were there as well. Basically as soon as we got to the park it started raining. It was just a light rain, so we decided to go ahead and fly the kite. It was pretty darn chilly, Clara was fussing, and I was feeling grumpy myself. We had to wait around for a while while David put the kite together. Finally it was ready to go and he and Eli took off running.
Eli got the hang of kite-flying pretty quickly, and got the kite way up in the air on his own. He loved it, and was so proud of himself. We were proud of him, too!
The rain stopped for a bit, our moods improved, and we attempted a short photo shoot of the kids. This was the best we could get out of hates-to-pose-for-pictures-Eli.
We ended our outing with a trip for milkshakes. Overall, it was a fun afternoon together.
