12 Months!

So I'm pretty behind on posting pictures of Eli, and letting you know what he's been up to over the last month. Guess that means you get to see and hear about it all in one long picture-post!  ; )

I think the biggest item of news for this past month is that Eli finally started crawling!  Yay!  He has been scooting since he was 7 months, and would often take a couple steps crawling off the floor.  For a while he would go back and forth between crawling and scooting, but now he's made the transition to crawling full-time.  I never get tired of watching him crawl, and he sure gets around fast!

Eli's favorite hang-out is the kitchen.  He could spend hours playing in there, if I was in there, too.  ; )  His favorite toys are a spatula and a mixing bowl, and he will sit and "stir" for the longest time!  He actually will do that with any utensil and cup/bowl-shaped object.  SO cute!  He is very observant of me when I'm cooking in the kitchen, and I guess that's just his way of imitating Momma.  : )

Eli's also figuring out that he can get into every cupboard and that they're full of new and interesting things to play with!

Eliand Daddy sure know how to have fun!  One of their favorite games is for Dad to place Eli in the basket of the stroller and push him around the apartment.  Eli LOVES it!  This picture kind of looks like he's waving at me.  : )

"Hey, guys!"

Here Eli is playing on top of the couch cushion mountain that he and Dad made.

They're rather fond of each other.  : )  A little bit before David comes home from work, I tell Eli, "Daddy's on his way home!"  He then turns his head with a jerk to look at the door.  Sometimes he'll even go and sit by the door to wait for him.  And sure enough, when Daddy's home, Eli only wants to be held by HIM.  : )

We still manage to get outside for walks, even when the weather's so cold.  I bundle Eli up pretty well, but he always comes home with a nose like Rudolph's.

In the following two pictures, we were visiting some friends of my parents, whose daughter (who I'm friends with) was home for Thanksgiving.  She has a baby girl who's 6 months, but Eli was not at all interested in playing with her!  I couldn't even get a picture of them together because he wouldn't sit by her.  : (  I think he prefers older women.  ; )  He had a great time tearing up their house, and trying to mess up our board game.
: )

Sittin' with Grandpa M.

We decorated for Christmas right after Thanksgiving.  It sure is fun having Christmas music in the house!  It helps to make it feel not so quiet with just me and a baby all day.  When I showed Eli his stocking he gave it a hug.  : )

Surprisingly he doesn't go around the tree too often, but at times he gets a hankering to pull on the lights and ornaments.

He even tried putting the branches in his mouth!  Or maybe he thought he could eat the snowflake cookie ornament, and the branches were what he got in his mouth instead.  : )

Needless to say, this boy keeps me on my toes!  And there's certainly hardly a clean spot in the house when he's on the prowl.  Love him bunches!
