Eli and baby Ben (6 months)--
Early Monday morning we said good-bye to Ryan's family and drove 2 1/2 hours north to San Jose to Emily and Pooch's new house. They just moved there earlier in November, so we helped them get some work done. Their baby is the cute, chubby Noah (10 months), who struggles with separation anxiety. He really wasn't sure of all of the new people at his house! On one rare occasion I was able to hold him without him crying, so we quickly snapped a picture. : ) Eli had so much fun playing with his cousin Noah. When Noah would nap Eli would yell, "Noah! Noah!" and try to go to his room. He talked about Noah for a few days after we got home. : )
Our time with family went all too quickly, and on Tuesday it was time to leave. We really enjoyed our California visit. It is a BEAUTIFUL place, with gorgeous vegetation and mountains, and of course, great weather. But while it's a fun place to visit, Indiana is HOME, and we are happy to live here.
Eli was so excited to get to go back to the airport and on the big plane again! He sure fell in love with these walking escalators--
He was as good as can be on the first flight, and slept for most of the second! (Hooray!) We got into Indy at 11:00, back to my parents for the night at midnight, so it was a late night, but he handled it very well. David was supposed to work the next morning, but he and I both ended up sick. : ( All those people crammed into the house during the reunion, many germs were being spread and every family went home with some sickness. All three of us ended up with nasty coughs for about a week, but finally we are healthy again (just in time for Eli's birthday)!
We couldn't have asked for a better trip! Thanks to my parents and Ryan & Jeri for making it happen! Love my family.
