Clara's Preschool Programs

Clara LOVES preschool!  Occasionally she gets nervous about going in the morning and every so often will be sad to go, but generally she wants to be there, and she ALWAYS comes back with a smile on her face!

Preschool has been a great experience for her.  She is becoming more independent and capable (sometimes stubbornly so).  She loves to practice writing her name and writing the alphabet.

Back in November the preschool had a special "Mom's Day." The moms and students came to the classroom. The children sang songs, we did some worksheets together, ate a snack they had prepared, and had our picture taken.  I loved having some one-on-one time with just Clara!

Clara is my singer!  She loves, loves, loves to sing!  And she loves to perform!  She sure sang her heart out and looked absolutely adorable doing so!

Here are the songs she sang for me:

Near the end of the month she had another preschool program, this time for Thanksgiving.  The whole family was invited (it was in the middle of the day so Eli was at school but David had taken the day off).  It was a Thanksgiving Feast!  All of the children wore Native American or Pilgrim hats (Clara was a Native American).  The teacher read a story about the First Thanksgiving as the children held up pictures.  Then they performed several songs and we ate some snack mix and corn muffins that they helped make.  At the end of the program the teachers presented each child with a certificate and said what they were thankful about each child for.  That was a wonderful touch.  It made me happy for each child to be told something unique and special about them.  Clara's was, "We are thankful you are such an enthusiastic learner!"  :)

We are thankful for awesome teachers for Clara and that she has been developing more self-confidence and capabilities.  We love seeing how far she has come in her learning and growth.
