Labor Day/David's Birthday (Take Two)

I just posted about the events on David's actual birthday.  But a week before his birthday (on Labor Day), we got together to celebrate David at my parent's house.

We drove up to see Grandpa mowing the lawn.  He invited Eli to go for a ride, which of course Eli loved.

While Clara napped and I worked on making the dessert for dinner (a peach pie that David requested), the rest of the gang went down the road to a church member's house to swim in their pool while they were away.  Luckily there was still some time for me and Clara to swim when she woke up.  It was a pretty chilly day, but the pool was heated so we had a fun time.  Both kids loved swimming!

Eli (not Clara) wanted to swim in the baby floating device.

My mom made a delicious dinner of chicken cordon bleu, waldorf salad, biscuits, green beans, and mashed potatoes.

David took a small rocking horse outside to do another photo shoot of Clara.  Apparently this is what happens when you have a girl who doesn't mind the camera and smiles for pictures.  She becomes your baby model.  :)
