We attended a Mexican festival at a park down the road. Its one we've never attended before and it was pretty cool! We played a few games and there were costumed performers doing lots of songs and dances.
A soccer kick game was set up right next to a creek, so the ball would always fall in! David went and fetched his own ball.
Bounce houses!
I think the highlight for the kids was participating in whacking the pinata! Clara and Ezra had never been near around a pinata before, but all three kids lined up with many others to take their turns. It took a while but eventually it broke open!
One Saturday we tried a new place: Flat Fork Creek. It turned out to be way farther away than David was happy to drive, so that was too bad. And I didn't know quite enough about it so some of us weren't dressed quite right for a big hike. (Really it seems best for biking.) Eli was very grumpy due to a sore he had, so that was too bad, but we still managed okay.
The kids thought this part of the trail was pretty great. We saw kids come ride their bicycles on these obstacle courses. Our kids just liked running across them!
Towards the end Eli walked down to the car but the other kids really wanted to climb this big hill, so we took them up.
Great view from the top!
They marched their way back down!

After we went to our friends' baptisms we spent time at the Carmel Safety Festival. This one was a win in my book! We received a TON of freebies, there was every safety vehicle imaginable for kids to sit on, balloon animals, lots of fun exhibits, and we even ate dinner there for FREE! This was our first year attending it but it will definitely become a tradition!
Clara in the firetruck. So many people commented on her outfit and how perfect it was for the occasion.
Eli was really excited for all of the army machines and people there.
Ezra was funny. This man offered to help him down and Ezra refused him and only let me bring him out. :)
The horses were my favorite. :)
The balloonist specialized in aliens. Haha!
As we walked down to visit the helicopter, they put up this tape as they were about to depart. So funny how the wind from the helicopter made Clara's hair fly up!
Kids even got to dress up like a firefighter and spray the hose!
After Ezra had his turn spraying he then realized there were fireman clothes to dress up in! So he rushed over to get dressed and then sprayed AGAIN! :)
This last festival was another new one in our town called Grand Fall Fest. We played some carnival games, visited all of the booths, jumped in the bounce houses, and ate s'mores. Even though it was October it was a very HOT day.
The kids chose vampire teeth as prizes and boy did they think those were fun!
